Have you ever had a great idea for a business?
Did you shout it to the world or were you more than a little scared to even tell your BFF?
Did you start the business and struggle to get the traction you needed to get it going or keep the momentum going?
Are there days when you wish you had another adult to bounce ideas off or celebrate successes?
Do you ever need someone to hold you accountable?
Are you ready to take your business to the next level, but don’t want an assistant or potential client coming to your house?
(Confession: I’ve been scared to tell others about my ideas for CoCreate. In the past I have longed for supportive people who understood what it is like to try to get a new venture off the ground.)
Being a solopreneur or freelancer takes guts! Being a remote worker or work-at-home parent is not always unicorns and rainbows. You are willing to take risks. You have thought a lot about your “why” and decided it is worthy of your blood, sweat and tears as you work to reach your goals. You deserve some help! And YOU are my “why.”
I want to help others create a life they love!
This year I was blessed with the opportunity to take some time for myself and discover what I love and want in my life. The same theme kept popping up… “Create a life you love!” We only have one life. You need to make the most of it. My guess is that you have chosen to run your own business or work from home to chase a dream, pursue a passion, spend more time with your family, or seek financial independence…. To create a life you love.
Unfortunately, the road you have so nobly chosen is paved with potholes and roadblocks. That BFF or significant other you told your dream to did not give you the overwhelmingly positive response you hoped for or thinks you should get a “real” job. You reach out to your support system, but they have their own issues and calling or texting just isn’t the same as having being able to talk to someone in person. And let’s be totally honest… Working from home can be really LONELY and being lonely SUCKS!
The #1 goal of CoCreate is to be a community of people who feel supported to do their thing, the thing that makes their face light up when they talk about it, in a space that gives them all the tools they need. What tools?
- A space to work that does not have the distractions of home.
- A space to work that promotes creativity. A positive, warm, inviting space.
- A space where you can work all by yourself or sit next to your new friend and work.
- Meeting rooms and conference rooms to have team meetings or meet clients.
- A “Content Creation” room to help get your vlogs, podcasts, photography started or take them to the next level.
- Networking opportunities to grow your business.
- Business education opportunities: From understanding basic bookkeeping to social media marketing. Topics our members want.
- Of course, great wifi, printing, copying, coffee, water and occasionally beer and wine (but you are always welcome to BYOB).
What would you like to see in our new space? What would help you create a life you love? Please let us know! I really want our future members to help us design a great space and help us build a great community. I would love YOUR input on what you would like to see, what you NEED in our new coworking community.
Like I said before, I’m more than a little scared about starting CoCreate. Why? Because I know that there are so many people trying to make their dreams come true, but they need a little support, a community, a place to be productive, a cheerleader or an understanding friend. I don’t want to let those people down. I want to help you create the life you love and I believe CoCreate can do just that.
