5 Habits for Living in High Definition

Make Your Bed

Making your bed helps to set your intention for the day and let's be honest, making your bed also prevents you from getting back in it!

Making your bed is your first accomplishment of the day. It may seem like a small task, but the benefit is huge!

What better feeling than to start your day with a surefire success!? This will set the stage for the rest of your day and the rest of your daily accomplishments.

Set Intentions

Be specific with setting your daily intentions. The mind is a powerful thing and we want to be as specific and thoughtful as possible when we're setting expectations for ourselves.

If you wake up telling yourself that “Today is going to suck, because I have to do _____”, guess what? Your day is going to SUCK!

Instead, try asking yourself “What are my goals today”? Find the positive in the situation and you will see a shift in your mindset when tackling the task at hand.

Be Present

Focus on one thing at a time.
It seems counterintuitive, but multitasking can make us less productive, not more.

Being present will free your mind to concentrate on each task individually and produce a greater output.

Take Breaks

Plan downtime throughout your day.

Take a break from your work every hour to hour and a half. This can be going for a short walk outside, or around the office, taking a nap, meditating, or whatever you do to relax!

Taking these short breaks will make you more productive and your brain will thank you.

Practice Gratitude

This is a big one.

When you start to incorporate this habit into your day, your brain will start to look for positive things and improve your mood.

At the start of each day, make it a habit to notice three things that you are thankful for.

For example: You had hot water for your shower, someone let you go in front of them in the grocery line, your flight was on time.

At the end of each day reflect on the three best things that happened in your day!
